Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 1.7 1.8 These figures are wholly or partially based on the previous year's registered electors as the number of registered electors were only given for Lofthouse.
  2. No party is given for Fielding in the Rothwell Times, but he was not an ILP candidate. It seems likely therefore that he was an independent.
  3. 3.0 3.1 The exact number of registered electors isn't given. Instead the Rothwell Times says "slightly over 400" so 401 has been used here.
  4. At a previous election, in the Wakefield Free Press, Harrison was listed as a Labour candidate. However, the Rothwell Times for this election does not list him as one of the ILP candidates. Therefore, it is assumed he never joined the ILP and is instead an independent.
